Overview
RW Marketing was proud to welcome 27 top chefs from around the world to Melbourne to have Sam Burke and Julie Ballard from MLA showcase the versatility of lamb at their office to kick off the week.
Last week’s inaugural “Lambassador Immersion Week” saw the arrival of 27 locally renowned International Chefs. The five-day program, a collaboration between Meat and Livestock Australia, the Victorian Government and Global Victoria, saw chefs arrive from 10 different countries, UAE, Jordan, Canada, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam.
The Lambassador Program, supported by Melbourne based marketing firm RW Marketing, was created to boost International exports of lamb by sharing Australia’s culture, diversity, and knowledge. The program included a masterclass in the versatility of lamb from MLA’s Sam Burke and Julie Ballard, a visit to a sheep farm including a butchery workshop with Doug piper at Fowles Winery and special guest chefs’ appearances from Maha’s Shane Delia and Komeyui’s Motomu Kumano.
The international guests got the chance to experience true Melbourne culture by taking tours of the iconic MCG, Arts Centre and Queen Victoria Market and tasting locally roasted coffee at Roasting Warehouse.
The 27 chefs were also wined and dined at some of the best restaurants in Melbourne – enjoying meals at Lilian Terrace by Society, Robata Melbourne, San Telmo, Pastusto, Maha and Hawker Hall – during their stay.
Other highlights of the tour included a visit to “the most beautiful butcher in the world”, Victor Churchill and a traditional Aussie bbq with the best Australian seafood.
The Lambassador Program has been running to increase Australia’s lamb exports over the last seven years and with the recent immersion program, we anticipate the Lambassadors will help increase the demand for Australian lamb in their local market. “Lamb brings us together from around the world.”
