From a carwash office to a full-scale creative agency — built on determination, hardwork, and a belief that we could do things differently.

We didn’t start in a high-rise, We started on the ground floor — literally.

In 2008, RW Marketing was born inside a sleek, high-end carwash on Punt Road in South Yarra. But this wasn’t your everyday carwash. Clearwater Carwash was modern, stylish, and always buzzing. It was where Melbourne’s elite came to have their luxury cars detailed — Ferraris, Porsche, Mercedes, BMW’s— all lining up in perfect rows. And there we were, tucked into a clean, glass-fronted office just off the detailing bay, getting to work while the city’s finest rolled through.

That carwash wasn’t just a place to start — it was a daily reminder of what was possible. Surrounded by ambition, precision, and polish, it lit a fire under us. This wasn’t about car detailing — this was about building something of our own. Something world-class.

2008

It began with a single client — the Baker Group — a group of businesses across hospitality, carwashes, bars, and nightclubs. From branding and flyers to full-service marketing support, we became their go-to. And in time, they became more than just clients — they became lifelong collaborators and friends.

By 2009, we were growing. Slowly, quietly — but undeniably. More businesses reached out. More work came in. We were still based out of the carwash office, but we knew this wasn’t just a freelance gig anymore. It was something bigger in the making.

2009

So in 2010, we rebranded as RW Marketing. That same year, we took a leap and began producing print materials out of Indonesia, expanding our services and planting the early seeds of what would become an international footprint.

2010

2011 took on our first dedicated office — a humble space at 300 La Trobe Street in Melbourne. It wasn’t fancy. In fact, it was raw and rough around the edges. But to us, it was gold. This is where the hustle went up a level. We added photography, drone work, and web development. We moved fast, learned on the go, and did everything ourselves. In 2012, we formally became RW Marketing Pty Ltd, and the foundations were laid.

2011

From there, the growth was relentless — but always grounded. We built a team in the Philippines. We joined respected industry circles like Les Toques Blanches. We even picked up national recognition with our creative campaigns. We weren’t just taking on projects — we were helping brands tell better stories, connect with customers, and find their voice.

In 2017, we signed the lease on a tired, run-down warehouse in Kensington. Over the next few months, we stripped it back and rebuilt it from the ground up — office by office, wall by wall, cable by cable. That space became not just our headquarters, but our home.

2017

In 2018, we launched our Innovation Centre — a commercial kitchen, café bar, event venue and production space rolled into one. Built with support from our incredible industry partners, it became a playground for chefs, makers, marketers and storytellers. Events came to life. Tastings, launches, workshops — even our first mural by Junko Azukawa. And those pot luck dinners? That’s when the space really found its soul.

2018

Even during COVID, we didn’t stop. We built a gym. We built a bar. We built a studio. We kept filming, travelling, creating. While the city stood still, we used the stillness to evolve.

In 2023, we launched the Asian Chef Club — a passion project turned community movement. And in 2024, we returned to Indonesia, this time building a stronger international team to match our vision.

2023 — 2024

RW Marketing today is more than an agency. It’s a community. A culture. A team. A creative partner for brands who want more than just content — they want connection, purpose, and something real.

2025

From a carwash on Punt Road to a custom-built studio in Kensington — this is our story.

And the best chapters are still to come.
