Symmetry is a boutique coffee roaster that rose to prominence due to its unique, flavoursome blends of coffee. The Symmetry brand represents perfection, equality, fairness and balance. It is for this reason that Symmetry aims to achieve an equilibrium using two opposing elements, two opposing worlds, combining them into the flawless coffee blends that we know today.
Initially established as both a coffee roaster and café known as The Maling Room, the business began to shift in focus due to their operating environment, adopting an alternative angle in supplying their highly sought after coffee blends. This prompted the creation of Symmetry, a coffee roasting brand that has since achieved outstanding growth. The boutique brand is built upon consistently high levels of customer service, quality and taste. They strictly abstain from short cuts and believe in the practice of adapting in their quest for perfection.
Symmetry constantly invents new blends to cater towards differing consumer tastes and preferences. Their perfection arises from roasting five times a week, ensuring the freshest of beans are delivered to consumer cups. The business was named winner of the ‘Best Boutique Roaster of the Year’ title by The Age Good Cafe Guide back in 2013. Currently, Symmetry houses a variety of quality blends, including their highly recommended House Blend.

The business owners approached us in seek of wholistic product development and marketing solutions. They wanted the roasted coffee produced by The Maling Room to become its own brand, growing and eventually transforming into a range of high quality coffee products.
Thus, Symmetry was born.
Following the client’s brief and objectives, we showcased our capabilities by designing a solution that encompassed brand establishment, distribution and communication solutions for the product.
The entire brand was borne from doing what we do best: translating client visions into reality. We produced a variety of marketing products, ranging from product packaging and marketing collateral to the ever important website that will serve as the online storefront of the Symmetry brand. All these elements were in line with a comprehensive marketing strategy produced with our expertise.
A brand line can go a long way in defining a product. The brand speaks to consumers from the product’s perspective. Symmetry sought to produce and grow a line of products that defined themselves. The strategy would distinguish the product from other coffee roasts and produce a strategic awareness among its target market.
By separating itself from its parent café business, The Maling Room, the Symmetry brand is able to appeal to its client cafés. It also leaves room for an expansive brand line extension, allowing Symmetry to produce a large range of roasted coffees under a single name.
