Celebrating Victoria’s Diversity: The Launch of the Victorian Multicultural Festival

A Colourful and Vibrant Celebration

From March 21 to 23, Grazeland in Spotswood came alive with colour, music, and flavour as it hosted the inaugural Victorian Multicultural Festival. This exciting event marked the grand finale of Victoria’s Cultural Diversity Week, the state’s largest celebration of culture and community.

Embracing Heritage, Shaping the Future

Organised by the Victorian Multicultural Commission (VMC), this year’s festival embraced the inspiring theme, “Embrace the Journey, Shape Our Future.” It was a powerful reminder of Victoria’s rich multicultural heritage and a call to build a more inclusive future together.

Performances, Workshops, and Global Flavours

For three vibrant days, festival-goers were treated to world-class performances from artists like Siesta Cartel and Firefly, alongside hands-on cultural workshops. The food scene was equally impressive, with over 50 vendors serving authentic dishes from Africa, Sri Lanka, Lebanon, and beyond — truly a feast for the senses!

A Festival of Pride and Community

Vivienne Nguyen AM, Chairperson of the VMC, described the festival as much more than just an event. It was a heartfelt celebration of the traditions and talents that make Victoria a dynamic and welcoming community

Proud Partners Supporting Diversity

John Forman, Director of Grazeland, shared his pride in hosting such a diverse and meaningful festival, highlighting the venue’s commitment to supporting Victoria’s vibrant cultural tapestry.

Looking Ahead: Celebrating Diversity Together

The success of the inaugural Victorian Multicultural Festival sends a clear message: Victoria’s strength lies in its diversity. We can’t wait to see this celebration grow and continue to bring communities together in the years ahead.
